Just got back from a very relaxing…and fun time on Koh Samui Thailand. During this time, I checked out at a new fitness gym which just open – Elite Gym and Fitness on Koh Samui
All the equipment was brand new, the staff was awesome, prices were a bit on the high side, but the people who work out here are pretty cool people.
(You don’t have the cocky asshole bodybuilders from places like Pattaya or Phuket. Most the people who use this gym are friendly, and more than willing to share any workout tips or advice if asked….and they don’t hog the machines which is annoying as fuck.)
Elite Gym and Fitness
Located 250 meters from Tesco Lotus in Chaweng. From the traffic lights near Tesco you follow the road down to the beach about 150 meters. On the left side you will see the gym.
1,800 baht a month (60usd)
34,990 baht for lifetime membership (1,150usd)
This isn’t the most inexpensive gym on Koh Samui, you’ll be paying about 15usd more a month for this gym than places like World Gym.
But there are four things that I really like about this fitness gym on Samui:
1- The equipment here is brand new
2- There is good air flow so you aren’t sweating like crazy just by walking in and it doesn’t smell horrible like the other gyms on Samui
3- The staff and owners are some of the nicest people you’ll meet in Thailand. And they know their shit when it comes to working out, they are professional body builders
4- If you are moving to Thailand, the lifetime membership option is an amazing deal. You come out ahead in less than 20 months
Note: There is only one drawback to this fitness gym and all the other fitness gyms on Samui, there is no air-conditioning. However, between the circulation of the windows, the fans, and the design, this is the next best thing. (Much cooler than any other fitness gym on Samui…excluding the shitty small gyms that don’t have dumbbells over 40 pounds. Whether you bench 50 pounds or 500 pounds, this place has the weights for you.)
Anyways, if you are going to be on Koh Samui and want a place to workout, I recommend checking them out.
