There are plenty of less wild gay nightlife spots in Bangkok, so check out these more low-key but definitely fun venues:
If you are looking for music and a good show, visit Hamilton’s Hideway. This small venue features nightly performances by various musicians and dancers. The cabaret is held every evening starting at 8 p.m. You can even rent this club for private events. It is open every day but Monday from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. It is located on the soi between Silom Soi 2 and Soi Thaniya.
The Big Bearz Club is known for its focus on “bears” and even has a special Chubby Night held from time to time! You can even get a discount if your four person group weighs over a certain amount. Enjoy some music and feel totally comfortable here. Big Bearz is open from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.
You can enjoy your drink in a comfortable, welcoming environment at @Richard’s. Music from the 1970s is king here, and there are often special events held to add to the fun. There are a number of global dishes available and the drinks can be had at very good prices. Check out the Game Nights on Wednesday. @Richards is located on the soi between Soi 2 and Soi Thaniya in Silom.
The Paradiso Kara Club is a fun venue well-loved by stylish local Thais. It’s located not far from Lumpini Park is open from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. There is a good variety of music and plenty of creative cocktails to go around.
Open from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m, Spinx is an unusual venue that has a welcoming and laid-back atmosphere. Mood lighting and a cool Egyptian-themed décor add to its attractions. Here you can order a nice meal or a simple drink. There are a number of areas for more private dining, so you don’t have to worry about whether or not you will be able to hear what your friends have to say. Sphinx is located on Silom Soi 4.
Pharaoh’s Music Bar is part of the Sphinx, which also features on this list. At Pharaoh’s, customers make their own music via karaoke, so get ready to show your talents. If that doesn’t appeal to you, don’t worry; there are plenty of professionals who come to sing, too. There is a nice lounge apart from the bar and pharaoh’s serves both Western and Thai dishes. Pharaoh’s is open from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.
