About Surin Beach in Phuket

Surin Beach is relatively undeveloped but offers not only a beautiful beach but great beach dining and opportunities to surf, swim, and snorkel. Keep in mind that you shouldn’t swim during the low season, since it may be dangerous.

This beach has plenty of activity without being too crowded. Relax, play, shop, and dine at Surin Beach.

Surin Beach Activities

Surin Beach is a great place to go to play in the water during the high season. Snorkeling is popular and equipment can be rented right on the beach, but be aware that if you are visiting in the low season snorkeling isn’t a good option. Other fun activities include volleyball and other beach games, and if you’re in a more laid-back mood you can sunbathe or get a massage.

Beach Vendors

There are various vendors who wander about Surin Beach selling not only crafts and clothes but ice cream and other food. If you’re not interested, simply smile and say no. Sometimes vendors have really interesting wares, so if you want to check them out just remember to be polite and bargain if you decide to buy anything (but remember that you don’t have to buy!)

Surin Beach Restaurants

Restaurants abound at Surin Beach. Thais and tourists alike appreciate the wide array of dining options, including some of the best in Phuket. Whether you are looking for an established restaurant or bar or just want to grab something delicious from the many stalls around the beach and the parking lot area, Surin Beach won’t disappoint. Be sure to try some seafood and Thai dishes.

Surin Beach Watersports

Surin Beach has several options for enjoying the water, including kayaking, which is a great way to explore the area and check out Pansea Beach in particular. Kayaks are available for rent around the beach and are a great way to spend a few hours and get in some enjoyable exercise.

From May until October, the water is at its best for surfing and boogie boarding. The best place to go is Kamala Beach’s northern area, since it is safer and better suited to non-experts. Surfers will find that the best waves come to Surin during high and low mid-tide as long as you avoid the dangerous rocks in the water off the center of Surin Beach.

Pansea Beach

Pansea Beach is a small beach and part of it – the northern tip – can only be used by guests of the Chedi and Amanpuri Phuket resorts. Celebrities and other famous names lounge in this area. Check out the rest of the beach for privacy and peace as you relax in the sun.

Amenities at Surin Beach

Surin Beach doesn’t have public toilets, but most restaurants will have one. Sunbeds are widely available on the beach and you can rent them by the day. The price usually includes two beds as well as an umbrella and table set.
