Nightlife Guide for Sai Kor Road on Patong Road in Phuket
The Tiger Complex dominates on any list of things to do at night in Sai Kor Road. It’s no wonder, since the complex not only has an impressive seventy bars but also an excellent Muay Thai boxing stadium. Nearby there are various smaller bars and restaurants, but the Tiger Complex is where you will find the most action.
Bars at Tiger Complex
Located in back of Jungceylon, Tiger Complex is home to seventy different bars, making it one of the biggest entertainment spots in the area. Hours vary, but many open in the day and the last to close do so late at night. You can always join in happy hour from about 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., but the best times are to be had late at night. The friendly girls on staff and typical bar games make for a fun night out in Patong.
Check out the Tiger Complex or one of its associated venues, which include the Tiger Inn Patong. The Tiger Complex is easy to spot, as it is quite large and there are statues of Muay Thai fighters on top.
Bangla Boxing Stadium
Bangla Boxing Stadium takes up the upper floor of the Tiger Complex, located behind Jungceylon Shopping Mall and across from Banzaan Fresh Market. Numerous bars take up the lower floor as the Muay Thai fights go on in the stadium. This makes for a fairly unique atmosphere that can be a lot of fun while also giving you a better appreciation of Thailand’s national sport.
Three nights per week – Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday – you will find Muay Thai boxing matches occurring here. The stadium is run by professionals who really know what they are doing, and the fighters are top-notch as well. This sport requires great skill and training, so don’t miss out on seeing an excellent match featuring international boxers. Almost all matches are between men, but occasionally spectators get to see women take to the ring as well.
Ticket prices vary, but kids always get half off and you can go for the cheaper seats if you don’t have a lot to spend. The fights take place from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.
