Nightlife Guide for Haad Mae Haad and Chaloklum Beach

Chaloklum doesn’t have anything in the way of a partying nightlife, but it does have some good venues for simply getting an evening drink, talking with companions, and doing some dancing under the stars. There are a few places in Chaloklum and Haad Mae Haad that will satisfy your appetite and give you new territory to explore as the night goes on.

Here are few of the best places to eat and drink at night in Chaloklum and Haad Mae Haad.

Wake Up! Bar

Wake Up! Bar is a good spot for socializing with fellow travelers and sometimes locals. They have live music from time to time and, interestingly, have a small library of their own and also offer free Wi-Fi.

Café del Mar and Café the Beach

These two bars are west of the pier and offer relaxed atmospheres, great views of the ocean, and a more than decent menu. Sometimes during the high season things can get a little wilder, so if you are looking for a party you could check things out here and see what’s going on. Usually it’s more laid back and a good place to grab a drink and feel the evening breezes.

The Lost Dog

This bar is yet another venue with a relaxed atmosphere. This bar is fairly calm but in the high season gets much busier and livelier. They have a pool table and are located right on Main Street in Chaloklum. The Lost Dog is open until 2 a.m.

Omega

Omega is a restaurant and bar not far from the Chalokum Pier. Music is a big focus here and Omega has both casual and more formal opportunities for musicians to come and do their thing. It’s a laid-back atmosphere but its status as a central point for live music in the area give it a special touch. It’s open from 6 p.m. until late into the night.

Sheesha

Sheesha is part of the Mandalai Hotel and is one of the more stylish venues in the area. The music here can get extremely loud, but it’s got nice views of the ocean. They open at 6 p.m. and close when it suits them, usually late.
