It is easy and highly enjoyable to navigate among the numerous shops on Sukhumvit Road. BTS makes it a convenient trip and most of the stores are well-organized and often air-conditioned. Shoppers love to browse and buy here. Sukhumvit is one of the top shopping areas in Bangkok, thanks in part to the great variety of goods available here. Some are high-end while others are knockoffs that seek to mimic the luxury brands not far away.
Clothing, electronics, media, souvenirs, crafts – it’s all here on Sukhumvit Road. The lower part of the street has interesting and fun shopping opportunities via the man street stalls located here. Some are open until late into the night.
Rated as one of the best malls in Bangkok for 2014, this should be one of your first stops if you want to catch a movie or go shopping for brand named clothing.
Across from the Thonglor Town Center, Kows Occassions stocks beautiful and often hand-crafted furniture from India as well as China. From tables and chairs to substantial sideboards and intricately carved cabinets, the products carried here are high-quality and quite lovely. Each item sold here is one-of-a-kind. This is especially notable for the linens and stationary, all made by hand. Kows Occassions is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday hours are noon to 7 p.m. It is closed on Mondays.
The Food Mart is a supermarket that carries both fresh ingredients, especially meats, as well as ready-made food, sauces, snack food, and more. You can also buy kitchen utensils and supplies. Food Mart is located on the first floor of Sukhumvit Plaza and is open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Sukhumvit Market is filled with street vendors selling all sorts of goods, especially clothing and accessories. You will also find bootleg CDs and DVDs here. Many of the products, including the clothing, are often knockoffs. This is part of the Little Arabia section of Bangkok and you can find some Middle Eastern-inspired clothing and other items here. The market is open from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
J Avenue is an outdoor shopping mall that can get quite busy. IN addition to the many shops – selling a big variety of goods – there are numerous restaurants and little cafes that offer a chance for respite from the buying and browsing. Japanese venues are especially prevalent on the mall’s second floor. The stores of J Avenue are generally open from 9 a.m. to about 9:30 p.m.
Geo Décor is a great place to go if you would like fine items for your home as souvenirs from your trip. It is a very nicely decorated itself. Here you will find beautiful, elegant, and high-quality items such as chandeliers, glasses, sculptures, soaps, accessories, and more. Simply browsing this fashionable and luxurious store is a treat. It is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and is located across the way from Camillian Hospital.
Mae Varee is a stall located not far from BTS Thonglor. It has earned a reputation as an exceptional fruit stand. One of the favorite dishes sold here is the mango stick rice. It is delicious and, for many people, a daily or weekly treat. Other fruits and dishes are also sold here. It is always open.
