11 Fun Activities for Chaweng Beach on Koh Samui

Simply put, the city of Chaweng is the “fun” place to be on Koh Samui.  This is the most popular tourist destination with some of the best activities on the island. Here is a list of some great things to do in Chaweng to get your fun started:

1. Samui Bungy Jump

Also located in Soi Reggae on Chaweng Beach is a bungy jumping opportunity that you shouldn’t pass up if you have the daring. From above you’ll see the beautiful environment and, in fact, see most of Chaweng Beach. They are open every day and the final jump takes place at 6 p.m.

2. Moulin Rouge Cabaret

The Moulin Rouge Cabaret has three shows every night. The performers sing, dance, and often tell jokes. The later shows are more daring than the early one and takes place at 11 p.m. It’s free to enter but the drinks can be a little expensive. The performers are friendly and great at their jobs, and the costumes are lovely.

3. Samui Football Golf Club

The Samui Football Golf Club offers you the opportunity to play football golf amidst awesome tropical garden. You play this game with your feet and all of the holes are different, designed with obstacles that add to the fun. This is a great activity to play with friends and drinks and snacks are offered. The club is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

4. Thai Cooking Classes

Thai cooking classes are a lot of fun and will leave you with some great new skills and cooking tips to take home with you. Taught by experts, these classes are small and intimate. Sign-up with friends or make some new ones as you learn to cook some great Thai dishes.

5 Crazy Golf

Chaweng offers a small mini-golf course called Crazy Golf. It’s a lot of fun for groups and families, including those with children, but of course you can play on your own also. The course is well done and feature the typical obstacles with some tropical twists. There’s a bar onsite and the course is open daily from 11 to midnight.

6. Muay Thai Boxing

Thai Boxing, or Muay Thai, is a highly skilled sport and you can see some great fighters at Petchbuncha Boxing Stadium. This stadium is located inside the entertainment complex Soi Reggae and is quite large. Fights are held on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday and start at 9 p.m.

7. Chaweng Beach

This is the main of attraction of Chaweng. Chaweng Beach is one of the longest around. At five kilometers long, there’s plenty of space but it must be accessed through the hotels located here. The beach is quite beautiful, with soft white sand and nearby rocky areas. You can swim, play beach sports, or simply relax and dine.

8. Horseback Riding

By riding a horse along the beaches and forests of Samui, you’ll appreciate their beauty in a whole new way. Join a tour and trot along the water with professional guides and calm, lovely horses.

9. Fitness Gym

Vacation is no excuse not to get our work out in. Centara Grand Beach Resort and the Chaweng Regent both have well-equipped gyms that you can enter for a daily price. They also have pools, and you may find a tennis court at the Imperial Hotel.

10. Shooting Range

Staffed by professionals, Samui Shooting Sport is a very safety-conscious shooting range located on Samui Ring Road. Choose your weapon from a selection that includes everything from pistols to AK-47 and try your hand at hitting the targets. The instructors load the weapons and will supervise, so don’t worry and get ready to show your talent.

11. Cinema

Check out the newest release at the only movie cinema on Koh Samui located inside the Chaweng Tesco Lotus.  Tickets start at 3usd and half price on Wednesdays.
