The most popular activities in Koh Phangan are related to the sea, including fishing, wakeboarding, beach games, and more. However, there are some great land-based activities as well. Koh Phanagan has numerous activities to enjoy that appeal to a wide variety of interests.

Dive in Koh Phangan

The reefs of this area make for excellent diving and there are several particularly excellent sites. These include the area around Koh Tao, home to marine life including sharks and sea turtles, and Sali Rock, which is especially regarded by divers from around the world. Some dives require a journey out by boast, while some in northwestern Koh Phangan can be done straight from the beach.

Wakeboarding

The Wake Up! Bar at Chaloklum is popular with wakeboarding enthusiasts. The professionals here offer training and equipment to help anyone learn to wakeboard and, most importantly, have fun. Chaloklum Pier is the launching point for this club’s activities.

Trekking

Almost all areas of Koh Phangan are great for trekking. There are a number of routes in Koh Phangan and guides can be hired to lead you through the jungle. The central area of the island is more mountainous and is a slightly rougher trip than the eastern areas. You can also go camping, so opportunities to get close to nature are many.

Archery

Not far from Chaloklum Village is the First Bow and Arrow Club. Here you can receive instruction in archery, become a club member (optional), and test your skills. Open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., this club also has an onsite bar.

Booze Cruise in Koh Phangan

This booze cruise explores several islands in the area of Koh Phangan and offers several activities, including drinking games (of course) and snorkeling. With lots of drinks and some good stories, you can sign-up to get aboard the Koh Phangan Booze Cruise at Weangthai Hotel and Resort.

Kayaking

You can go kayaking around Koh Phangan on your own or with a knowledgeable local guide. Kayaks are available to rent on most of the larger beaches and you can launch out from pretty much every spot so long as the water is not rough. Be sure to bring plenty of sunscreen and water before you set off on your adventure.

Fitness

The Haad Yao Lounge Fitness Centre not only is a great place to work out but also offers a sauna and lounge. You can even grab a drink, including juices and shakes, at the bar and restaurant. This restaurant serves both western and Thai dishes. Open all day, you can come work out or grab a bite for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
