About Chaweng Beach on Koh Samui

Chaweng is the most popular beach on Koh Samui thanks to its great sand and lovely waters. Increasingly popular with tourists, this 3 mile beach has a small reef and some very nice scenery.

If you’re looking for a more secluded spot, head to Chaweng’s southern end where you will find Chaweng Noi, which is not as crowded. The deepest waters are found in the southern and middle areas of Chaweng Beach, so these are the best spots for swimming or playing games in the water. Young children are better off in the shallow waters at the northern end.

The beaches are great for sunbathing, but always be wary of the sun. It does get very hot so you may want to head inside during the more dangerous times anyway.
